DISNEY TIPS FOR KIDS AND ADULTS
Hi guys,
The question of what age is best to take your kids to Disney is one that Noam and I discussed pretty often. We wanted to wait until the boys got a little older so it would be more memorable for them. Neither one of us had been to Orlando before, and the temperature drop in NYC was enough to persuade us to take a short trip to sunny Florida. The two and a half days we spent there was an adventure to say the least - for us and the kids.
We hit all the spots - the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The first day we stayed at the park until late visiting all of the rides and life-sized characters around the amazing grounds. The music, the landscape and the general vibe at Magic Kingdom is unforgettable. I totally got transported back and felt like a kid as we walked around experiencing everything. Even though we thought it would be best to wait until the kids got older to go to Disney we saw how excited Romi was to see Mickey Mouse and realized that this place is special for so many ages - myself included!
Yuli was really excited to see the Star Wars area of the park since we recently watched the latest movie in the theater. We thought Romi would enjoy a live Disney show, so we separated and each kid got to see something different and better suited to their age and interest. I’m so glad we did this - seeing their happy faces was priceless.
We got a great taste of everything the parks at Disney have to offer and found the perfect balance between kid-friendly fun and an adult getaway by staying at the Four Seasons Orlando. It was my first time staying with this hotel chain and it will definitely not be my last. The hotel went that extra step to make our first Disney experience that much more memorable. Our suite was spacious, and each kid got a goodie bag filled with Disney essentials on their beds! So cute. They even thought to provide us with baby food and a diaper pail for Romi. While the kids enjoyed all of their amenities, Noam and I were able to enjoy the pool, jacuzzi and amazing breakfast buffet where the kids eat for free. We also had a great dinner at Capa, a steakhouse with views of the famous Disney fireworks.
One thing I worried about before we decided to do our Disney trip was the chaos of everything - so many options of things to do, big crowds, etc. Luckily the Four Seasons Orlando made everything seamless and easy. Breakfast was kid-friendly and they have options to dine with Disney characters on Thursdays and Saturdays. We missed our opportunity to have breakfast with Goofy, so we’ll definitely be coming back to get to see that.
With the parks taking up most of our time the first two days, we decided to spend the last day relaxing at the hotel. The boys played basketball and then went to the kids club for an hour. They had so much fun and this allowed Noam and I enough time to go back to the room and pack for our flight.
On the way back, Romi kept pointing to Mickey Mouse objects in the airport which warmed our hearts. This trip definitely left a huge impression on her, and the boys were on cloud nine from
seeing their favorite characters from movies and TV shows. I think the whole family is filled with enough Disney magic to last us a while - for now we’ll be cuddled up in our New York apartment watching our favorite Disney movies
