MOTHER'S DAY GIFT GUIDE
This Mother’s Day (my first as a mama of three!) I want to dedicate this post to all of the brave, strong, and selfless women who have chosen to devote their lives to the future, the next generation. Motherhood is the most exhausting and grueling journey there is but the reward is incomparable to any other professional or personal experience! I love that there is an entire day dedicated to celebrating and honoring the women who selflessly raised us, and the mothers we continually grow to be. Mother’s Day is more than just a day to appreciate mothers, though. I am so thankful for each of my kids. My three ‘babies’ gave me the privilege of owning the mom identity, and each time I look at them I remember how lucky I am to be their "ima"=mother. It is humbling to think that it is my job to raise each of my kids – to cultivate their strengths and foster their respective personal growths- as my mom did for me and my siblings, and her mother did for her. I am and always will be forever indebted to my mother- for her kindness and devotion to my siblings and me. She has taught me everything I need to know about being a great mother. Ima, I love you so much! Speaking of my mom…My mother lives 6,000 miles away in Israel. And, while we speak every day (thank you, Facetime!), it isn’t quite the same as having her close by down the street. Luckily, I have a community that I can turn to - to all of you, fellow motherhood bloggers - for support and advice throughout my journey, when getting in touch with Mama Goren isn’t feasible (think: 7 hour time difference, to start). Each and every one of you has given up your time, sleep, and bodies to your children and trust me, it has not gone unnoticed. All the mothers in the community look to each other and share tips and advice, knowing it is their duty to foster growth and strength amongst their fellow moms, just as they do with their own kids. The beauty and strength that motherhood creates is an inspiration to us all and I am so lucky to be a part of this journey, and to know women and great mothers like each of you. Let’s take it back to the family for a sec! To me, Mother’s Day is also a day for husbands and children to show their love and appreciation for all that moms do for their families. Every single day, you, the mothers, are the ones responsible for running the household and showing care and affection for your family as each family members grows and lives their life. So today is your day! Let your husbands and children show you their love and support for the hard work you put into bettering their lives everyday. Pamper yourself, buy yourself something nice, do something that YOU enjoy. You totally deserve it!
