TIME- SAVING TIPS FOR THE PERFECT PARTY!
As much as I love shopping for new kitchen items or trying out new recipes, it an be a bit overwhelming, especially when there are three little ones running around. Last weekend, I decided to give Pampered Chef a try, a social selling business that provides high quality cooking tools – and the recipes and kitchen hacks to go with them. All of this is demonstrated in a party at your house with your best friends and family together to take part in the fun.
With the weather outside being unpredictable for NYC, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to invite some friends and their kids over for a cooking party. The kids played together indoors and the adults got to kick back, talk, try new recipes, and most importantly eat!
A Pampered Chef cooking consultant and fellow NYC mom, Arin, performed a great demo for us in my kitchen and made us a delicious pasta dish. My favorite product she used during the demonstration was the Non Stick Grill Pan which you can find here. Within ten minutes the meal was on the table, and the only time I had to lift a finger was when I wanted to pour another glass of wine! What a dream. The kids’ favorite part was the amazing chocolate cake that the consultant prepared – it was light and airy and a recipe I will be definitely be remembering.
For me, hosting a party should always be enjoyable and stress-free. Here are some tips I use to stay cool, calm and collected when I have company over:
1. Keep appetizers simple! Have something on the table for when your guests arrive that can be assembled in seconds. I love tomato and mozzarella salad or a great fruit, nut and cheese platter. All you have to do is pick up some great quality ingredients and put them on a plate – so easy!
2. Keep your kids happy. If your dinner party is a family affair, think through a guest list that also has your kids engaged and occupied. Friends with kids that are of a similar age to yours is the best bet, as they can play while you are with your adult company. Moments like these make the best memories for us and for our children, and the photos of everyone together are always sweet.
3. Create a drink station. Clear off a section of your kitchen or table for a cute drink area with a pitcher of water, wine, beer or liquor, cut up limes, ice and glasses so guests can mix their own beverage while you finish up any last minute meal preparations.
4. Give a Pampered Chef party a go! The average Pampered Chef party host gets around $165 in free products, or you can raise money for an organization of your choice in lieu of product rewards. You can choose from a wide list of cooking consultants who will set the perfect tone for any type of gathering including a cooking party, a virtual party for online guests, a catalog party, fundraiser party, wedding shower and more! All you provide is the venue and the guest list, and a few groceries. Then all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the fun.
